SimCat at AGILE and Google I/O

If you’re interested to talk to us about our work, you can meet us at AGILE 2008 in Girona, Spain (May 5-8), where Krzyzstof will present our latest paper. Or, in case you’re also going to Google I/O in San Francisco (May 28-29) and are interested in a chat over a drink, let me know.

SIM-DL Server and Protege Plug-in released (beta2.2)

We are happy to announce the release of the next beta version (2.2) of our SimCat similarity server and Protege plug-in! The new release contains several bug fixes and a context logger. The next release will focus on performance issues.

We are happy to announce the release of the next beta version (2.1) of our SimCat similarity server and Protege plug-in! The new release contains some major improvements such as an extended context model with several kinds of contexts, caching, lazy unfolding and a more intuitive user guidance for the plug-in.

SIM-DL server beta1.2 released

We are happy to announce the release of the next beta version (1.2) of our simcat similarity server and Protege plug-in!

We (finally…) have an overview of all SimCat and SIM-DL related publications online, with most of them available for download as PDFs.

Beta 1 (balou) - HowTo

The SimCat Similarity Server and the Protégé Plug-in have reached beta state. We want to give you the basic facts you need for performing similarity measurement using SimCat software.

SimCat Server

  1. Download balou.jar
  2. run the jar

Protégé Plug-in

  1. Download and install the Protégé Editor including the Protégé OWL-Plugin
  2. Download the plug-in
  3. Unpack the archive into the plugin folder in your Protégé directory
  4. Start Protégé and activate the SimCatTab ( Project-> Configure)
  5. Set the reasoner port to 8085 (OWL Preferences -> General)
  6. Load an OWL-Ontology of choice
  7. Set search concept and context and submit similarity request
